How much do you know about your own Google habit? I know that there are a lot of them out there, and it's not hard to see why. We all have one or two, right? These little rituals or habits can make us more productive, make us feel like we have an extra battery in our cell phone, but they can also lead to an addiction, especially when the time comes to Google something else, like a website address.
So, what exactly is your Google habit? Well, for most people, their Google habit is just one click away from being a habit. Just imagine, it's one click away from... "hmm, there's a great website called 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' - how about that one? Okay, I'll look it up. " This is actually a common addiction that happens when we don't actually look at a web page - we go right ahead and do the search and get on to the next thing. So if you are thinking about quitting your Google habit, think about how much time you are saving by not clicking on every single link you find. Just imagine how much time you would save if you didn't have to do the Google search anymore - how much more productive would you be then? And how much more money could you make! It's simple: you spend more time doing something, you make more money. That's it! But wait - what if you don't? What happens then? If you are constantly searching for a website that you may not even want to buy, you will probably go through your computer more than you ever want to. When that happens, the results are just a waste of time - they just don't make any sense. It's like watching television and reading, and sometimes even worse, it can be an addiction too. It's easy to see why having a Google habit is something to avoid. So what do you do about it? Well, a big part of it involves having a system in place to monitor your surfing habits - whether you realize it or not, there are certain websites or pages that you visit every day that you want to look up more often. In my experience, the number one thing to avoid is the search bar - you should always use the back button. To really quit your Google habit, I recommend using a stopwatch program to show you how much time you spend looking at a web site, and how many times you actually click. on the search box. If you are consistently wasting a half hour on this screen every day, then maybe you need to reconsider your habits.Additional Articles:
